8 ways to decorate with Pantone’s 2019 Colour of the Year

New Year – new you! Or in our case, new colour!

What better way to usher in the new year than by embracing Pantone’s colour of the year?

This year’s colour – Living Coral – is all about energy and positivity. We can definitely see why Pantone themselves describes it as “an animating and life affirming coral hue with a golden undertone that energises and enlivens with a softer edge.”

“Soft yet bold, sociable and spirited, the engaging nature of Living Coral welcomes and encourages lighthearted activity.”

Pair it with moss green, dusty grey and periwinkle for an on-trend interior or go classic with black and white, this colour is truly versatile.

I don’t know about you, but I need me some of those happy vibes to start the year!

So, here’s a selection of interior additions that encapsulate this wonderful colour.

.

Tribe Studio applied coral pink to the tiled walls, under-sink storage cabinet, and mirror frame of this bathroom in a Sydney home.

Tiles

There’s no need to repaint entire walls to capture Pantone’s colour of the year (although if you’re in the market to renovate, why not get inspired by this year’s colour and go for something a little more bold?) A little bit of tiling magic in the bathroom or kitchen can do wonders to transform your home.

Kitchen appliance

On the hunt for a new kitchen appliance or two? Get groovy with a pop of colour – KitchenAid’s new Living Coral range is sure to blitz your kitchen straight Pantone’s colour ambassador territory.

Cushions

You can’t go wrong with a few extra cushions in your life. Kip & Co’s Smokey pin velvet tassel cushion cover (made from 100% cotton velvet, mind you) is the ideal pick.

Rattan chair

The rattan trend is going strong – why not elevate it with a dash of coral pink? Perfect for summer entertaining, a rattan piece – like this Oasis rattan chair from Adairs – will help you achieve an instant 2019 holiday vibe in your home.

Wall Art

Naked walls, move aside! Adding an artwork with on-trend hues is by far one of the easiest ways to transform a space. A striking piece with spectacular contrasts of green navy and coral red hues,Lamai Anne’s Waratah Bloom print is sure to spruce up any room.

Bath towel

Towels are to bathrooms what cushions are to living rooms; with so many wonderful patterns and designs, these babies are the easiest and most cost-effective way to usher in a new interior trend or colour. Gold, silver and red gold sparkle and dazzle against Tuscan orange, yellow, rose pink and coral with the Acer bath towel bathroom makeover set by Ziporah Lifestyle. These magical colours are tied together into a design that is both eye-catching and totally unique.

Planter

Give your plants some design love by switching out to a cute coral planter, like this fluorescent concrete one from Coral and Herb. Subtle yet bright, the peachy tone sits perfectly against the cool concrete.

Pendant light

One thing that’s often overlooked when updating interiors is the lighting. Just because it’s a practical addition to your home doesn’t mean it doesn’t deserve some limelight of its own (pun totally intended). The Dania pendant light by She Lights keeps true to a classic design while welcoming 2019 with its earthy red hue.
