7 pieces of furniture that celebrate texture

Here at Concept DCF, we love texture. From the boldest eclectic ensembles to the most subdued neutral palettes, every interior needs texture. That’s why it’s one of the most important elements in interior design – so important, in fact, that we wrote about it back in 2019. Incorporating texture goes a long way in making a space look and feel complete.

Today, we’re highlighting some of our absolute favourite furniture additions for adding that delectable texture to your interior.

Huggy occasional chair from Sarah Ellison

As the name suggests, the Huggy chair was designed to make you feel like you’re getting a warm hug. We’re particularly obsessed with the faux-shearling rendition, which is sure to add the perfect amount of texture to any space.

Unbeaumatin dining chair from Ligne Roset

Want to create an elegant dining space but still maintain a gorgeous amount of texture? Then look no further than the Unbeaumatin dining chairs from Ligne Roset. These exquisitely crafted chairs offer supple, polished forms, with the mesh backing bringing a light and almost transparent texture.

Togo sofa from Domo

One look and it can be easy to see how the Togo sofa has remained the ultimate in comfort and style for over forty years. Its ergonomic design with multiple density foam constructions and quilted covers just oozes soft, inviting, pillowy textured goodness. We’re in love.

Jil dining table from Made by Tait

Texture isn’t just about those soft, plush materials. The Jil dining table from Made by Tait is a perfect example of harder materials being used to create a beautiful visual form. A timeless design transcendent of fads, the dining table’s wireframe structure delivers graceful form and a fine-lined profile – adding subtle texture to any interior.

Lincoln bedhead from Heatherly Designs

While bedrooms generally aren’t lacking in the texture department, statement bedheads take the texture game to a whole other level. The Lincoln bedhead from Heatherly Designs combines rich velvet with a contemporary quilted design to create a luxuriously textured bedhead.

Casablanca rug from Tribe Home

Rugs are no doubt one of the best ways to incorporate texture into a space. We’re particularly smitten with this lush Casablanca rug from Tribe Home. The perfect foundation for illuminating interiors, the Casablanca rug features a luxurious sheen, playing with light to create a beautiful, textured space.

Coffee table from Barbera Design

A well-balanced interior is one that pairs soft, plush textures with hard, smooth finishes to create contrast. The custom coffee table we used in our Ivanhoe project was handcrafted right here in Melbourne and is the perfect example of how edgy materials can create a fabulous accent against a minimal colour palette.
